During these unprecedented times, it is important we do our part to support local businesses in any way we can. Restaurants across Ontario are doing their best to ensure delicious food is still available at our fingertips, and many of Whitby’s restaurants are doing their part.
While there are many ways you can support restaurants and bars in your area, such as buying gift cards from them or even just liking them on social media and sending encouraging words, if you are in a position to be buying takeout, do so!
We have put together a list of some of our favourite restaurants in Whitby that you can still purchase food from, whether through your favourite food ordering app or by speaking to staff directly. Chatterpaul’s has amazing food, a cozy atmosphere and, of course, a stellar wine selection! While they are closed on Tuesdays, they are open Wednesday to Saturday from 4:00-7:30pm and 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday and Monday for curbside pick up only. Call 24 hours ahead to place your order; browse their fabulous take out optionsand, if you’re feeling it, why not add a bottle of wine or 4 pack to enjoy with dinner?
We recommend the $60 dinner for two (date night?). If you add a bottle of wine, Chatterpaul’s will even give you two complimentary wine glasses!

We love Kb for its fresh food, warm service, and engaging menu. Every day brings a different menu based on the season that incorporates the freshest fruit, veggies, and meats. We adore how important drink pairings are at Kb; they always ensure that the best options are available to “sooth your angst, quench your thirst, and accompany your meal.” They offer curbside pickup of a la carte and dinner dishes for 2 to 4 people, as well as a stellar wine and beer list (all wine is currently 40-60% off, just so you know). Takeout times are between 4:00-8:00pm daily, just make sure you call ahead to make your order.
The turkey club is delicious for one, but if you are looking for a family meal, why not order Kb’s slow roasted pork loin? It comes with three sides, gravy, fresh bread, and dessert!
Stuttering John’s Smokehouse

Stuttering John’s Smokehouse Catering Company and Food Truck is an excellent option for delicious BBQ in Whitby. They are currently offering free contactless home delivery on vacuumed packed meats and weekly specials over $40 and deliver on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 12:00-3:00pm. You order your favourite smoked meat—pulled pork, pulled chicken, half racks and more—and then all you have to do is heat and serve!
We love Stuttering John’s pulled pork; it is delicious any way you want to eat it, but we love putting it on a baked potato with green onions and cheese!
12welve Bistro

12welve Bistro is a delicious option if you are looking for a meal made with fresh ingredients that expertly incorporates many different cooking styles and cultures. Recreate their fun, live-music filled atmosphere at home—all you have to do is put on some of your favourite music and order online! They offer contactless delivery or pick up, and you can add a bottle of wine or some stellar Brock St. Brewery beers to compliment your meal (or save for later).
We would recommend their beer & wings combos—the perfect way to bring some of their ambience home with you.
Gangster Cheese

Gangster Cheese serves fresh, delicious, and unique grilled cheese sandwiches from their food truck. You don’t even have to talk to anyone—all you do is text them your order when you want it and they’ll text you back your total and when you can pick it up! They accept e-transfers, debit, or credit, but only allow a maximum of 2 people in their truck line up to ensure everyone’s safety.
Gangster Cheese will also come to you! If you live on a court, crescent, or apartment building or know an office still operating that deserves some yummy grilled cheese, call or email Matt to set it up! They are available from 12:00-2:00pm for lunch or 5:00-7:00pm for dinner.

Have we saved the best for last? You tell us! A Tavola Bistro has amazing Italian food—handcrafted, fresh, quality food that supports local farmers and reminds us to slow down and enjoy food. They are open from 3:00-7:00pm daily, serving all your favourites for curbside pickup. They will even put your order in your car for you!
Order a take-home, 5-course family dinner today! We love the mains, sides and veggies but… the tiramisu is definitely our favourite part of dinner.
